DriveU's bright green and black shirts are a familiar sight in metro cities across India. That's how most people instantly recognize a DriveU driver-partner on duty. The signature green shirt, worn by thousands of partners nationwide, has become the most visible part of our identity. But our apparel extends beyond just that—carefully designed to meet different needs.

For the past 10 years, this uniform has not only represented our brand but also stood as the identity of our driver-partners. While visibility and brand promotion were our original priorities, comfort and safety have always been equally important. Operating in India means adapting to diverse climates: humid coastal cities, scorching heat in the north, and sudden downpours in others. Many of our partners, especially those traveling on two-wheelers to reach customers, brave these conditions day and night.

On July 18, 2025, however, an incident shook us to the core. After completing a trip in Gurgaon at 12:24 AM, our driver-partner Manoj Choudhary was heading home when he was tragically involved in a hit-and-run accident on the city’s outskirts. Sadly, he passed away at the scene.

Manoj, who had married just in November 2024, was from Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. As the sole provider for his father, mother, and wife, his sudden loss placed his family in a very difficult financial situation. While we extended every possible support to them, the incident left us in deep grief, and with a resolve to act. Some things are beyond our control, but what we can control, we must.

That's why we decided to redesign our driver-partner t-shirts with a reflective logo. The reflective imprint contains tiny glass or plastic beads embedded into the fabric, making it glow in the dark. This small but important change makes partners more visible on the roads, especially at night, improving safety.

Before rolling out any new design, we test samples with a group of partners to ensure the changes are practical and functional. We also conduct extensive checks to see how the fabric and colors hold up against heat, humidity, and everyday wear and tear.

Our process doesn't end with a rollout. We continually look for ways to make our product safer, more comfortable, and more affordable. By keeping our ears close to the ground, we remain committed to protecting our driver-partners while helping them work with greater confidence and efficiency.
