The question we get asked most often is a simple one: what does a DriveU Reserve booking actually cost, and what goes into that number?
This guide answers it. Full price tables, what's included, what gets added, and why the final fare can differ from the estimate you saw when you booked.
What a Reserve booking costs?
Every Reserve fare covers the car and a professionally trained chauffeur for the duration of your booking. Fuel and the chauffeur's time are part of the base price.
Tolls, parking, state permits and driver batta are charged separately on outstation and airport trips. These vary by route, so they can't be built into a single flat price. GST at 5% applies to all fares.
Airport transfers
Airport fares are fixed. The price you see covers the trip from door to terminal or terminal to door, including tolls and parking.
In-city travel
In-city bookings run for six hours. The base price covers [X KM AND SIX HOURS]. Beyond that, you're charged per kilometre and per hour.
Outstation travel
Outstation fares are charged per day. The base price covers [300 KM PER DAY], with a per-kilometre rate beyond that. Driver batta is a daily allowance for the chauffeur's meals and accommodation on multi-day trips.
We also do have a special 200 KM package for outstation trips so that you can pay a lower daily base fare that includes 200 km, and a lower rate for every kilometre after.
What affects your fare?
The car you choose: A Dzire and a Innova are priced differently because they cost differently to run. Larger vehicles and premium cars carry higher base fares and higher per-kilometre rates.
Distance and duration: In-city and outstation fares include a set allowance. Anything beyond it is charged at the rate shown in the tables above.
Route-specific costs: Tolls, parking and interstate permits depend entirely on where you go. On outstation trips these are charged at actuals.
When you travel: Night travel on outstation trips carries night batta for the chauffeur.
Promotions: Promo codes and DriveU Coins are applied at booking. Add them before you confirm.
Why the final fare might differ from the estimate?
You see an estimated fare before you confirm, based on the trip details you enter.
The final amount can differ if the trip itself does: A longer route, or more hours than booked will add to the fare at the published rates. Tolls and parking on outstation trips are charged at actuals, so they can vary from the estimate. Nothing is added that isn't in the tables above.
How Reserve compares to a regular cab?
Reserve isn't an on-demand cab service, so a direct price comparison rarely tells you much.
A Reserve booking is a car and chauffeur held for you, at a time you choose, for as long as you need. The chauffeur is salaried and trained in service and etiquette. The vehicle is maintained through a garage and prepared before it reaches you. The fare is agreed upfront rather than calculated at the end.
For a short point-to-point ride, an on-demand cab will often cost less. For a full day, an early flight, or a trip where you need the same car and the same driver throughout, Reserve is built for the job and priced for it.
